The Plan: Be a Lion or Bear or Wolf or Vulture. A Carnivore

Objectives:

  1. Reduce screaming heat in my back by reducing inflammation
  2. Healthyize
  3. Drop the man-boobs
  4. Get motivated to play golf

The Strategy:

  1. Eat only meat, drink only water, coffee, tea and LMNT for 30 days
  2. Take copious amounts of supplements
  3. Intermittent Fasting
  4. After 30 days reintroduce other foods, except carbs, sugars etc.
  5. Monitor the effects of foods on inflamation

I started this officially on February 23, 2023 after a couple of weeks of on and off dabbling.

Results to date:

  1. After three days my back stopped yelling and stayed that way for 10 encouraging days. Then I took a few golf swings and it started yelling again. It was screaming yesterday.
    • Correlation does not mean cause, so I can’t say that carnivoring resulted in 10 good days, but I can hope. Today I’m discouraged that it might not.
  2. Since starting carnivoring, I have lost something very near to my heart – man-boobs. Fifteen pounds is a lot to lose in just a couple of weeks, so that surprised me. I don’t really have a goal for weight-loss, but I could / should lose thirty, and would like to lose fifty total. I’ll shoot for thirty to start with.

The diet:

  1. Meat only.
    • I’ve had mostly steak once a day but have had some chuck roast and hamburger patties and some breakfast sausage and bacon.
    • I’ve munched on beef jerky and Bavarian Meats dried sausages. However after four or five days I’ve found that I’m not hungry for breakfast or lunch. I start to get a bit hungry by mid-afternoon, but I ignore the hunber until dinnertime where I don’t eat much. Half servings of what I normally eat, because I don’t really feel hungry.
    • Drinking lots of water. I should put some toys in the restroom like my grandkids do, to keep me entertained since I’m in there a lot. Occasionally drink coffee, tea, and just started LMNT, an electrolyte mix.
